PedEgg: I Used It and Heres My Review

Does the PedEgg Really Work? My True Story

PedEgg: I Used It and Heres My ReviewI rolled my eyes when I heard about the PedEgg because I have been burned so many times in the past by products that claim they will make my rough, hardened feet feel soft as a baby’s bottom again. They never worked before, so why would the PedEgg be different? I am from Texas and since birth have run around barefoot. I can’t stand socks. So my poor feet took a beating and I never thought about it until my husband mentioned how rough my feet were and said, “Eew” when he touched them. I was SO embarrassed then. My feet looked like that picture to the left (it’s not me but they were like that). Sidenote: When my daughter just saw my add that image (she’s 4) she said, “Mommy, that looks how YOUR feet used to look!” LOL I went to the salon and got a pedicure. She even used the ILLEGAL scraper they have that pedicurists aren’t supposed to use - and it literally took a layer of skin off. But days later they were just as rough as before. (I was that desperate that I risked an infection - st

Finger Lickin Fifteen by Janet Evanovich

Finger Lickin Fifteen by Janet Evanovich Book Review

Finger Lickin Fifteen by Janet EvanovichLooking for a book review for Finger Lickin’ Fifteen by Janet Evanovich? Publisher’s Weekly had this to say, “Bestseller Evanovich recycles tired themes better executed in earlier adventures in her latest Stephanie Plum adventure (Fearless Fourteen, etc.). When Lula inadvertently witnesses the beheading of culinary TV star Stanley Chipotle in a Trenton, N.J., alley, Stephanie’s on-again off-again boyfriend, cop Joe Morelli, reluctantly takes the case. Lula, with the help of Grandma Mazur, enters the same barbequing competition Chipotle was in town to promote, hoping to lure the murderers out of hiding. Meanwhile, Ranger has recruited Stephanie to help solve a series of break-ins at properties under the protection of Rangeman Security. The inevitable sparks fly between Stephanie and Ranger, with Morelli grumbling on the sidelines. Evanovich dishes up her usual mixture of shoot-’em-up action (numerous cars explode) and quirky characters (notably a neighborhood flasher with a devoted f

Planning the Perfect Christmas Party

Christmas Party Planning

Planning the Perfect Christmas PartyWhen planning a Christmas party, a good way to organize is to get a list (or two) together. This will help in determining supplies, decorations, a guest list, and fun and games. Is it a formal Christmas party or a casual one? Is it for the office or family and friends? The guest list will help determine what sort of activities might be included; and in the case of kids being invited should be to keep them occupied and cheery. Williams-Sonoma Holiday Entertaining Other considerations a Christmas party organizer should keep in mind include location, budget, and date. If it’s an office party, then all three are usually determined by management so you’re working within limits already. However, if it’s a social gathering at your house, then there are the invitations that need to be sent (and RSVP’d), the supplies and gifts to be bought to accommodate the expected guests, and the decorations to make the chosen space sparkle with holiday spirit. A Christmas party can be simple, but it can

Christmas Wrapping Paper That Gives Back!

Christmas Wrapping Paper That Gives Back!Every Christmas season I like to find ways to give back to others. I always grab a couple of names off of the tree at the mall for needy kids and bring back everything on their list. I donate food when I can, and I ship a care package to a soldier overseas as part of the Adopt a Platoon program. This year, I’d like to do something for some kids who do so much for others. At my son’s school, instead of just teaching them how to pass tests, they instill a moral code in each student, requiring them to complete 60 hours of volunteer service in the community. The Class of 2008, for example, gave 10,936 of volunteer hours. The kids donate their time to Habitat for Humanity, local immunization centers, environmental “go green” programs, Meals on Wheels, local food banks, pet adoption centers, and after school programs for disadvantaged kids. The kids at this school are raising money for their class programs now. This keeps the pinch off of parents who may feel the strain of all of the clas

Twas the Night Before Christmas - and You Didnt Know THIS:

The Origin of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas

Twas the Night Before Christmas - and You Didnt Know THIS:‘Twas the night before Christmas - What American or European child over the age of 5 hasn’t heard this opening phrase of a best loved Christmas poem? ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas has a rich and interesting history. We will meet the author and how this whimsical tale has influenced how we view the Christmas holiday more specifically how we view the jolly old elf, Saint Nick. While it isn’t dead certain who the author is, Clement C. Moore is given credit for penning this oft quoted poem at Christmas time. ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas How many of us knew that before this poem became popular, there was no single image of Santa Claus as we know him. Originally called, “A Visit From St. Nick”, we can give credit to this poem for single handedly giving us the image a “jolly old elf” dressed from head to toe in red. Even the names and quantity of his reindeer as well as how they magically fly all over the world each and every Christmas Eve are attributed to Moore’s poem. The idea of

Taking the Perfect Christmas Picture

How to Take the Perfect Family Christmas Picture

Taking the Perfect Christmas PictureHoliday celebrations come with the snapping of cameras. We like to have photos of Christmas celebrations and the people we love so that we can feel the warmth of the holidays the entire year round. Which is better, candid shots taken with a digital camera (where you can quickly erase mishaps) or taking the family to a studio for a holiday portrait? Each type has its merits. All those candid shots of the kids opening their gifts and beaming with surprise are terrific for the family album. Gorham Frame Tree Ornament Catching the moment of a warm hug or the rosy cheeks of little ones in the middle of building a snowman is priceless. Of course, the family photo in front of the tree is a perennial favorite and can be accomplished with a good digital camera with a timer. On the other hand, a professionally done photo can be a wonderful way to remember a family Christmas. Family photos done professionally might be for a particularly special Christmas like when a new baby joins the family,

Christmas Tree Ornament: Simple Decor or Treasured Heirloom?

A Christmas Tree Ornament Is More Than Decor

Christmas Tree Ornament: Simple Decor or Treasured Heirloom?A Christmas tree ornament is more than just a pretty addition. For most people, ornaments hold memories. Whether theyre passed down from Mom and Dad, one that was given as a gift, or a new one that simply reminds, ornaments are vessels of joy and merriment at Christmastime. Artificial Christmas Tree Storage Tips

Christmas Tree Storage - What to Choose

Artificial Christmas Tree Storage TipsThere are a few different ways you can store your Christmas tree between holiday seasons. There is the box it came in, plastic bags, canvas bags, and bags made of polyethylene, polypropylene and a host of other polys. Whitney Design #MS6030 Mighty Stor Seasonal Storage Tree Bag The key consideration involved in storing your Christmas tree properly is where will you be storing it? Under your bed or the back of the coat closet is different than the garage, storage shed or basement. You want to keep your tree clean, dry and bug free. After all, artificial trees are not cheap! The cardboard box the tree came in is fine if you are keeping the tree inside and the box is in good shape. If that’s not the case, you need to invest in a storage bag. Is the storage spot dry? Then a good canvas bag might be perfect. Is there a possibility of moisture? Then consider plastic. Make sure what ever you choose, the Christmas tree storage bag has handles for easy carrying, and is the right size for th

Artificial Christmas Tree Owners on the Rise!

Today’s Artificial Christmas Tree Is a Far Cry from the Past

Artificial Christmas Tree Owners on the Rise! You may remember your parents or grandparents having an artificial Christmas tree that looked about as real as the old-fashioned flowers did. Can you say ugly? A lot has changed in recent years, though. Today’s artificial Christmas trees are so gorgeous and realistic that few people can tell the real trees from the artificial ones. They come in as wide a variety as real trees. This drastic improvement in artificial Christmas trees is due to advances in the materials used, as well as the engineering that goes into them. The limbs are closer together and actually feel real. Some even pop open like an umbrella to make them super easy to put up. You may think that artificial Christmas trees are expensive, but theres one available for every budget. They’re quite reasonable when bought online at discount prices. This saves you from making the trip down to the Christmas tree lot, tying the tree to the top of the car, and praying it doesn’t fall off on the way back home. And tha

Christmas Tree Storage Bag Options

The Importance of the Christmas Tree Storage Bag

Christmas Tree Storage Bag OptionsArtificial Christmas trees are a great idea, but they are expensive. Storage is sometimes cumbersome because these trees come compactly boxed up and they never really fit back into the box the way they came out. Most of us store our artificial tree in the garage, basement, attic or a storage unit. There, they can become dusty and sometimes insects such as spiders find them to be a great place to set up housekeeping. Who wants that? A good way to keep them clean and protect your investment is to use a good quality artificial Christmas tree storage bag. Artificial Christmas tree storage bags help to keep your tree looking fresh and real by protecting it from the elements, dirt and bugs. They are made out of durable, tear-proof material such as polyurethane, polyvinyl, canvas or other durable materials, and in a variety of sizes to suit your storage needs. The tree is disassembled and packed into the bag that zips up. They are compact and easy to put away for next holiday season.
